LPM - Live Performers Meeting: international meeting of live video performers, visual artists and vjs is ready to launch its first edition in America Latina!

For the first time LPM moves over the ocean from 4th to 6th September to meet the broad part of south-american community, who has always followed the meeting and the FLxER community since its first initiatives. 

The Escuela Gestalt de Diseño and the MUTYE - Museo del Transporte y Exposiciones in Xalapa (Veracruz, Messico), will be the venues of this sixth edition of LPM.

LPM 2008 maintains the spirit of a meeting, which has been its main characteristic since the first edition. It is conceived to be a place for comparison and exchange of informations and ideas between vjs, visual artists, live-video performers and passionate of arts and digital technologies who usually meet in the "virtual" space of the net.

LPM is a no-profit organization and experimentation is one of the founding elements in our ideology, for this reason all the saved founds from the previous editions of the meeting are invested in the most innovative technologies to support the Event and to enhance the research activity in the live visual field.

Il csoa Forte Prenestino, per il terzo anno consecutivo, invita tutti a partecipare al festival di musica elettronica Electrode. Nato grazie alla collaborazione di progetti attivi sulla scena musicale romana come MissAnthroPeak, Sonic Visioner, Truckstop76th, Urban Pressure, LPM e Phag Off, il festival si è posto sin dall’inizio l’obiettivo di riuscire a coniugare, in un’immensa dance hall all’aria aperta, i più interessanti generi dell’universo elettro, dalla techno alla drum’n’bass, dalla techouse alla breakbeat, passando per la jungle. Una due giorni dove alle consolle si alterneranno i più interessanti dj capitolini con ospiti internazionali di altissimo livello. Un festival che punta a divertire, sì, ma anche a creare connessioni tra i differenti generi di musica elettronica, cercando di creare sempre nuove contaminazioni in grado di emozionare e di liberare i sensi di chi partecipa a quest’immensa festa danzante.

VJFEST İstanbul will be the first international VJing festival in Turkey. It will be a demonstration of the art of VJing as a social act. Its aim is to introduce and discuss different aspects of VJing and contribute to the development of this new profession. It will also be an opportunity for the interested people to learn about this new profession. VJs from Turkey will meet VJs from other countries. They will share their knowledge about the subject, and help each other to improve their techniques.

SAMPLE DESIGN è un progetto dei dottori Stefano Perna e Pasquale Napolitano nel quadro delle attività della cattedra di Disegno Industriale del prof. Tozzi

Scopo del laboratorio è stato quello di realizzare in collaborazione con gli studenti un progetto che intendeva ottenere competenze progettuali nell'ambito della comunicazione visiva e multimediale.

Il design infatti acquisisce sempre più forma fluida, composizione di elementi modulari di volta in volta associabili e declinabili nei più disparati contesti comunicativi.

Fenomeni quali il veejay, il video in tempo reale, la tipografia in movimento, il remix, il remake, sono lo stato dell’arte di un sistema che fa del baricentro della progettazione la composizione di universi coerenti di senso piuttosto che la produzione.

Invitato ad intervenire, Antonio Rosciano aka vj paki (FLxER Team) ha illustrato l'uso e le potenzialità del software libero FLxER e le caratteristiche dell'omonima comunità telematica.

Dopo il successo dello scorso anno, con un numero di 295 artisti partecipanti provenienti da: Algeria, Argentina, Australia, Austria, Bosnia e Herzegovina, Colombia, Croazia, Danimarca, Francia, Germania, Israele, Italia, Lettonia, Lituania, Macedonia, Messico, Paesi Bassi, Polonia, Portogallo, Regno Unito, Repubblica Ceca, Serbia, Spagna, Turchia, Ungheria e più di 26.000 visitatori nel corso delle giornate
di Meeting e d'anteprima, LPM2008 torna con una nuova quinta edizione.

Il Meeting ha luogo dal 29 maggio al 1 giugno 2008, in una nuova sede d'eccezione, il padiglione 9C dell'ex Mattatoio di Testaccio: oltre 900 mq di spazio che ben si adattano alle esigenze di LPM cresciuto in termini di contenuti, artisti partecipanti e presenze di pubblico.

Viene riproposta ancora una volta la formula delle quattro giornate con un programma sempre più fitto di workshop, performance, presentazioni, showcase di progetti e prodotti all'avanguardia.


Il LIVE VIDEO è naturalmente il filo conduttore delle quattro giornate variamente caratterizzate dalla diversità delle realtà partecipanti e delle tematiche: Digital Freedoms, 8 Bit + Elettropop, Breakbeat + Techno + Electro, Visual Gender.

L'iscrizione al Meeting è GRATUITA ed è possibile iscriversi fin da oggi, seguendo le modalità d'iscrizione presenti nelle sezione "participate" del sito internet.

L'alloggio per gli artisti che performano è disponibile dal 28 maggio al 1 giugno 2008, fino ad esaurimento dei posti letto riservati presso: Residence Libetta & E&S Guesthouse.

Per ragioni spazio- temporali, non tutte le performance A/V possono essere inserite nel programma; viene data pertanto priorità ai progetti ritienuti di particolare interesse per tutti i partecipanti.

Per ciascuna performance è stabilita una durata massima di 30'.

L'associazione culturale Homework presenta la sesta edizione di Homework Festival, evento di arti e autoproduzioni digitali audio e video.

Il Festival, nato come vetrina per artisti emergenti, col passare degli anni si è trasformato in un evento di cultura e intrattenimento in grado di coinvolgere un pubblico sempre più numeroso, variegato e proveniente da tutta Italia. Nonostante la sua crescita costante, Homework Festival ha comunque mantenuto fede ai suoi propositi iniziali di promozione di giovani talenti.



Gli artisti che parteciperanno al festival saranno in parte invitati direttamente dall'associazione culturale Homework ed in parte saranno selezionati attraverso un bando di concorso. Saranno premiate le produzioni, le performance, le installazioni ed i progetti che sapranno distinguersi per valore artistico, originalità e che sapranno esprimere in pieno il concetto di artigianato digitale.

Un quadro di esistenza quotidiana tra l'immondizia.
Installazione sulla spazzatura urbana.

L'emergenza rifiuti nel napoletano, aldilà delle responsabilità politiche e degli interessi della malavita organizzata, fa riflettere con una certa angoscia sul futuro delle nostre metropoli, destinate senza dover viaggiare troppo con la fantasia, a rimanere  sommerse dai rifiuti metaforicamente come la mitologica Atlantide o le bibliche Sodoma e Gomorra. ContestaRockHair non resta a guardare e lancia un invito a tutti i suoi amici e clienti a partecipare alla realizzazione di un evento, che vuole essere un “gesto”, non di protesta fine a se stessa, ma una riflessione “tutti insieme” per scuotere le coscienze  intorno a quanto sta accadendo nelle nostre realtà metropolitane.
Il contributo che abbiamo chiesto ai nostri clienti , consiste nel raccogliere in un sacchetto l' immondizia differenziata (esclusivamente carta, cartone, plastica e latta) accuratamente lavata e di consegnarla presso il salone ContestaRockHair , quando vengono a farsi il taglio di capelli.
L'happening sarà un'installazione, che ha per tema la rappresentazione di una vita possibile  in mezzo ai rifiuti,  infatti l'intero salone di parrucchieri sarà letteralmente invaso dalla spazzatura raccolta, e il suo staff continuerà a svolgere il consueto lavoro con i clienti, con in dotazione guanti monouso e maschere anti-gas necessarie alla sopravvivenza in questo habitat, non proprio così futuristico. Anche per strada, intorno  al locale l'ambientazione sarà quello di un paesaggio urbano sommerso dai rifiuti,  mamme con bambini che passeggiano indossando maschere anti-gas .

Video installazioni di AV-art presentate da di FLV Flyer live visual e realizzate da Nikky (flxer.net) e AIRA  stimoleranno  la riflessione dei partecipanti. Durante l'evento un dj set di musica elettronica e un unplugged solista punk-rock  chitarra e voce. FLV mettera a disposizione di chi non potrà partecipare all'evento, la possibilità di vedere cosa succede tramite 5 webcam visibili dal sito web www.flxer.net

Suoi interpeti principali sono Tvyks direttamente dal party "Boom Bang Baby!" di Praga, Musicista e Dj che rappresenta tutta la nuova scena queer e dance elettronica che dalla Polonia si estende fino agli urali, per ritornare in sede con Q ospite Video/grafico, fondatore del party "Carni Scelte" che gioca con le estetiche del socialismo reale attraverso i suoi Vj set e le sue illustrazioni di cui sarà esposta una selezione di lavori. Sempre presenti i resident Vjs e Djs WARBEAR e Infidel e il Workshop Fotografico My Jemma Temp.

Award-founder Cinetrip announces the international VJ-Tournament for the third time in February 2008. In the previous years of the biannual event the audience could enjoy over a hundred contestants’ live and preproduced works from 11 countries. It is our hope that the few days’ intensive experience of the international trends of contemporary visual culture and electronic music will inspire spectators and local artists alike.

The programmes on offer at CVJ2008 range from open and specialised workshops by invitation from Monday through Wednesday, with presentations by Dutch and Belgian software developers and animation artists, while from Thursday through Saturday the sounds and images of the clash of the international VJ scene will fill the smaller and bigger rooms of Merlin. Contestants will rival in 3 categories this year as well (battle, live and preproduced) – and apart from the international jury, the audience can choose their favourite act.
Friday and Saturday nights are absolutely devoted to the party audience, who can cast their vote with their feet or dancing shoes this time in support of Flemish and Hungarian DJs’, VJs’ and bands’ productions.

I CONTROL NATURE A/V performance

Free video/audio improvising for customade interface c::ntr::l, electric bass and butterfly.
What would happen if the Nature followed my instinct of human being?
Control Nature is an action of visual and musical improvising.
It is the celebration of a hypothetical instinct able to govern everything.
Performance proposes an univocal, synesthetic action, out of every academic and socially correct conception. The aim is to define what Control really represents.

Narration is not fundamental, but the action in itself, whole gestures, sounds, images that take life in front of the eyes of spectators create a unique visual-soundscape which can exist only in that occasion.

This performance is possible thank to the customade Human Computer Interface c::ntr::l developed by Marco Donnarumma using Pure Data and AudioMulch. The electric bass guitar (the only sonic source) is also used as video controller, thanks to a complex system of audio analysis which recognizes notes, frequencies and RMS and translates this data in parameters employed to control scratch, speed, length, fading and selection in real time over the video output.

Starts as a vj at the Superclub.
Comes to Rome in 2003 to go on with her studies in Web design & Strategy and becomes part of the Flxer team, vj and
video artists collective, collaborating in video live performances proyects.
From that moment she participates in festivals and events in nacional and internacional level as Sonar di Barcelona, Bien-
nale di Venecia, Torino Film Festival…
Her work reflects her formation and personality as a multimedia artist, able to express herself with diferent languages such
as graphics, silkscreen, paintings and video that mixes together in a colourfull performance.

Il secondo Phag Off di questo mese (Sabato 16 Febbraio) pone l'accento sull panorama editoriale indipendente, focalizzando l'obiettivo sulla nuova onda delle riviste a tematica queer. Esse hanno innovato radicalmente le estetiche e i contenuti del mercato editoriale gay, frantumandone le identità storiche. PissZine rappresenta questa esperienza nelle sue sfumature più radicali ed "umide". Per questo Phag Off ha invitato i suoi creatori e la sua rete di relazioni di produttori, Djs, scrittori e artisti attraverso L'hosting del Dj e produttore Max M, Del performer Sally Cellophane, del circuito di PornFlakes, la famosa e storica queer crew di milano e di tutto il mondo che bascula tra questi due poli.
